Sedation Dentistry and Why it is Sometimes Necessary
Finding a dental home that can meet your needs is important. Sometimes patients with special needs will require dentistry that is more involved than just routine care and this dental home might need to be more specialized. The Center for Patients with Special Needs at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine is working to train dental students to be able to provide care to patients with disabilities. This video explores the need for sedation dentistry and various types of services that might be involved for someone that requires this level of care to get dental treatment. It also guides families on what to ask a potential provider if they are seeking care in their community.
